We Help You Execute

Problem:

A leading organic food supplier to the grocery retail channel sought to secure preferential access to regionally grown produce. One of their key grower partners needed to update and expand its post harvest handling infrastructure and desired to provide a variety of value-added aggregation services to growers in the region.  The grower asked our client to help it secure funding for the facility.

Action:

The client retained Cambium Strategy to work with the grower to validate the business model assumptions, rationalize the facility design, rewrite the business plan, create a project plan and secure funding.

Results

The State of Oregon awarded a $390,000 Regional Solutions grant to help underwrite construction of a food hub facility. The facility will include a food packing shed, commercial kitchen and farmers market serving small and medium-scale organic farms located in the Rogue Valley. Construction is underway!

Businesses that execute [do so] ... with rigor, intensity and depth. Which people will do the job, and how will they be judged and held accountable? What human, technical, production and financial resources are needed to execute the strategy? Will the organization have the ones it needs two years out, when the strategy goes to the next level? Does the strategy deliver earnings required for success? Can it be broken down into doable initiatives? People engaged in the processes argue these questions, search out reality, and reach specific and practical conclusions.
